BUSIA

Things concerning Jesus: “The angel said to her (Mary), the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you: therefore that holy one who is to be born of you shall be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35). “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace” ( Isaiah 9:6). “While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him”(Matt.17:5).

“For in him (Christ Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Col.2:9). “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God” (1 John 4:15). “The woman said to him, I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ, when he comes, he will tell us all things. Jesus said unto her, I who speaks to you am he” (John 4:25-26). “And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger and he who believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). “Then Jesus said to them again, I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:7). “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

KASESE

I am only lacking a few things and am asking if you can assist me with them. I have a lot of work as far as preaching is concerned and am involved in translating of leaflets and Bible Basics into local languages and also carry out youth work. Recently we had a Youth Camp and I will send you a copy of the report about it. What I am requesting from you is a second-hand laptop computer and a small photocopying machine, which would make my job easier and quicker.

LUMINO

Thank you so much for all the books, which are all very useful spiritually for both me and Lumino Ecclesia. It was so good for me to have your newsy letter. I have had some difficulties which made me think of this question, ‘How can I pray and be heard by God in order to find happiness in my life?’ Some of our friends may also have this question.

Many people pray, yet they feel that their prayers are not answered. Jesus taught us to avoid repeating the same things over and over again (Matt.6:7), for God to listen to our prayers we must pray in the way of which He approves, by learning what His will is and then praying accordingly. 1 John 5:14 explains, “If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” Also read, Psalm 65:2, 1 John 3:22, John 14:6.

About happiness, most of us believe that money, fame and beauty will make for happiness, hence we pursue such things only to find that happiness eludes us. Jesus said in Matt.5:3 that true happiness can only be found if we take steps to fill our greatest need – our hunger for spiritual truth about God and His purpose for us. That truth is found in the Bible: knowing the truth can help us discern what is really important and what is not, and allowing Bible truth to guide our decisions and actions leads to a more meaningful life (Luke 11:28, Prov.3:5-6,13-18, 1 Tim.6:9-10).

MAYUGE

We much appreciate our dear Lord Jesus Christ and all Christadelphians worldwide. Two weeks ago I was in Rwanda, which was a great pleasure as it is a lovely place, although the temperature was very hot; I hope to be there again in August. My ecclesia at Kigandalo is now very strong and very soon we shall be having an ecclesial building. I am now in Western Uganda for two- and-a-half weeks and I hope to visit Mbale and Pallisa ecclesias next week and pray that God will bless my travels. I am sorry that this year there was not enough food and facilities for the youths at the Youth Camp and they were hungry part of the time. I hope things will be better next year.

MBALE

It is my joy to tell you that my family is OK and I have found real help from the literature I get from you. Your books have really shown me that God’s hand is upon them; many people come to me asking for them but I have made sure I keep some in the ecclesia’s library for Bible revision. You have become a real brother to me and your response to my letter shows me that you have really kept me at heart. Thank you for all that the CAT has sent me – the articles, notes on various topics and the prayers you make for me, and God’s work in Uganda. Thank you for the book entitled ‘The Real Christ’, it is really constructive to my life spiritually and to those I share the study with. May God enlighten you to continue writing these books, which will sharpen our knowledge before Christ returns.

In addition I would also like to tell you that the Area Business Meeting elected me as an Area Elder and has sent me to revive God’s work in Mbale town. I therefore request for your prayers that God will use me in the Ministry. I really like preaching but I find it difficult because of finance for transport. Pray for God to open a way of transporting me to the various contacts and ecclesias.

In January the ecclesia of Butiru officially opened Munamba Ecclesia, which had remained a preaching centre for three years. All members attended the Memorial Service at Munamba, where we all broke bread together and shared a cup of wine. It was a very memorable day for Butiru to have one of its satellite areas granted an ecclesia. We give thanks to the linkman for Uganda, Bro. John Matthias for his support. Preaching in Butiru is extending in all directions and many people are coming to understand the Truth. I am sure that one day, God willing, we shall meet but if we don’t meet face to face we shall in the Kingdom to come on earth. Please pray for me, for the poverty situation in Uganda is great and this retards the growth of God’s work.
