Reform Your Ways
If we look in 2 Chronicles 15:1-7: "The spirit of God came upon Azariah, son of Oded. He went to meet Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found of you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. For a long time, Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the Law. But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought Him and He was found".
This still applies to us. Before we knew the truth, we were in darkness but when we heard the word preached to us, we believed and were baptised. We had searched for the truth and found that there is life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our old life had been buried in water and we came out to a new life. Verse 7 says, "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded".
We should not give up just because we have been many years in the truth and the Kingdom hasn’t yet come. No, we must keep on reforming our ways and encouraging one another in the truth. "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:14-17). These things will keep on encouraging us to go ahead with the word of God and through prayers, without which we wii not see the greatness of Him who created the universe
All those who come to worship God should reform their ways in front of God. If we really change our ways and actions, our eternal life is assured. "As surely as I live, declared the Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways. Why will you die, O house of Israel?" (Ezekiel 33:11). We should try and live a life which is always being commended by our Heavenly Father.
Please, please let us change our ways and do the will of God, as the time is near for the return of our Lord to establish the kingdom (Philippians 4:4-9). We must practice what we have seen from the apostles through our Lord Jesus Christ.
