Let those who would enjoy a good future waste none of their present

In Kenya we have a higher education institution by the name of Egerton University, formerly Egerton College. A colonialist by the name Lord Egerton of Tatton donated a portion of his land, then the agricultural college was built. At the moment the University publishes a few pages in one of the local newspapers by the name “Nation Daily”. Their articles talk of the “Seeds of Gold”. They talk of a big variety of seeds, animals, agriculture and related topics of the agribusiness. It really helps farmers, students and the public in general.

The real seeds of eternal life

The Holy Bible, which was written by over 40 prophets of the Almighty God, is the only source of eternal life. It has the seeds that lead to eternal life, which is very expensive and difficult to acquire (Mark 4:1-20).

Jesus Christ the son of the living God spread the gospel (planted the seeds of eternal life) to mankind, so that we might be saved and have a share in the promised Kingdom (John 3:16). Gold cannot be compared to eternal life since gold will either vanish or the proprietor will have to die in the long run.

The Bible also teaches us to be generous and to welcome whoever knocks on our door, because we might even welcome angels to our homes (Acts 17:25; Heb. 12:9; Eze. 18:20; John 3:5). God is love, that’s why he extended an olive branch to mankind after the fall of Adam in the garden of Eden (Gen. 3:1-23).

People with wisdom choose life

The omniscient God urges us to choose life rather than any other thing. Human life is very dear. One can use his or her last penny seeking for treatment to save their lives. Like in Kenya, the ‘well off’ travel as far as South Africa, India, U.S.A., U.K., Germany and many other places just to get well and live longer. But the God of Abraham is giving us eternal life at a very cheap price, the most expensive part of it was paid by His only begotten son, Jesus of Nazareth, on Calvary (2 Cor. 5:1-2; 2 Tim. 4:18). Some die while undergoing treatment, while some recover but still remain mortal and die eventually through a different cause.

The Bible reveals the great human problem and it’s solution

It’s true that man’s life on earth comes from God (Acts 17:25, Heb. 12:9). Children are a gift from God (Psalms 127:6). In summary let’s hear the gospel, spread it and put it into use. We should practice it, as the saying goes, “Salvation is not the destination it’s a journey,” that has ups and downs and numerous challenges. When I was young I wanted to enjoy life. I wanted to live nicely, get whatever I wanted and then also have hope in the coming Kingdom. It couldn’t work. My Dad was a rail worker and could not afford the luxuries of life for all the family. Also the gospel requires that we don’t love money, but serve God. If we do His will then he provides whatever we might need in our daily lives (Deut. 7:9-10; 1 Pet. 4:19; Luke 19:11-12).

The current global crises’ like power wrangles, famine, earthquakes, wars, tsunamis etc. are all an indication that the son of God is about to return to earth and establish the Kingdom of God on earth for the righteous; a world free from all the tribulations that we are experiencing at the moment.
