Hold On To Our Faith
As Christadelphians recognize there is only one God, one faith, one baptism, one body, one spirit, one hope, one Lord and one Father. I believe that the present conventional religious systems that we see can nowhere be found in scripture. If we are all convinced that our doctrine is in line with the Bible and we surely live by it, there won’t be anyone among us sliding back. If we feed on His word, I don’t think any of us will dare look back, as this will weaken our faith. By fixing our eyes and minds on the Kingdom of God, we leave no space for the rubbish of this world.
I believe that everything that we believe must be in line with the written revelation for the understanding of the ways of God. This will enable our eyes to be open. We must have a sense of the eternal power, greatness and holiness of God. If we fail to comprehend what is required from scripture, we are boarding a lost train. In other words, no religious serveces are acceptable to God which are not based on the belief of His promises, for without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6). So any religions which lose sight of scripture because of ignorance, or are misguided by the sinful fleshly mind which hates righteousness, is of no value and leads others astray.
To be a Christian we must be a man or woman of faith and not a mere rationalist or hypocrite or a worldly priest; our faith must be reasured by conforming to the obedience of God. As Christians we must not forget that we are undergoing a period of probation, a time of preparation for the age of righteousness. This we can do by living by the Bible. It is worthy of deeper study for it shows us just what we are and what we need to be. It is then that we really appreciate just how much we have to overcome. Only in this way of submission to the teaching of scripture will unity and harmony be promoted. We must have the key to distinguish truth from error and to consider the Bible as the only reliable source of scriptural ,knowledge. It calls us not to rate human ideas above the word of God. Let us remember the words of the apostle Paul to the Ephesians “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit just as you were called to one hope when you were called” (Ephesians 4:3, 4)
