The Real Value of the Gospel

The Gospel or ‘glad tidings’ was first regarded as the most valuable news. But the current generation, known as the dot com, has many preachers drawn from different backgrounds, whose doctrines are totally different even though they all claim that they are Bible-based. One may wonder why we have so many churches and sects, yet the Holy Bible is just One, and the commandments are still ten, just as the Lord gave them to Moses (Exodus 20:1-20).

The Almighty God is a loving Father. Since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, God still loves the human race, so He sought a way of reconciliation with mankind. Therefore, He decided to send His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God the Father, the Creator of the universe and controller of all that happens on earth, is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. His holy book says so, therefore if we want to have a share in His kingdom which is about to be established on earth, we should worship Him in truth and spirit and live according to His will.

Some theological scholars argue about whether God answers prayers or not. My answer to them is that God answers prayers, no matter how long it takes. An atheist once claimed that God does not answer all prayers, just a few. There is a case of a certain young Christian who was leading a righteous life, then God blessed him with a lot of wealth. Eventually he forgot his Creator, not bearing in mind that all his belongings came from God whom he had neglected. The Gospel gives us hope beyond the grave. It ultimately transforms us to be immortal beings, so that we can share in the kingdom of God which Jesus is about to establish here on earth. The Bible states clearly that the earth is the dwelling place for man: in contrast, sin leads to death for ever.
