Activities in North Tanzania and Kenya

KIGOMA

In the company of Bro Michael Owen (U.K.), his Sister wife Richmael and Bro Benoit Mukendi, we had a week of many activities in Kigoma from 10-16 July 2003.  The activities were based on teaching the Brothers and Sisters how they should conduct their CBM activities in their respective ecclesias.  Bible teachings on topics like Satan, separation from other churches and the Kingdom of God were taught by all of us.  Brother Michael had a difficult time opening his Bible now and then to prove to the people that the Bible speaks for itself.  Bro Benoit Mukendi did a good job proving to the audience he knows why he is here.   Sis. Richmod was so patient, staying under the shade the whole day teaching both the Sunday school and Sisters.  The trip proved to be quite good and finally Lugufu camp was visited, although I had to leave early on the 16th.  It was a sad departure.

From 15-25th Septmber 2003, Bre Arthur East and Paul Dredge from the UK, and Bro Benoit Mukendi and I were here again for 10 days.  Our main concern was the camps.  We visited Nyarungusu, Mtabila and Lugufu and we were very happy with their progress.  We had about 10 baptisms in total.  Bro Arthur East had time to tell them about the CBM and how they were to organise themselves.  The visit proved to be good and encouraging.  At Lutale the advice was that they should conduct things in love, and if they put love in the ecclesia, the ecclesia would grow.  It was sad to part with my brothers for their various destinations.

ARUSHU

As usual my fellow missionary workers, Bro Tim and Sis Judith Evans had already arrived at Golden Rose Hotel with their children Leah, Abigail and Joel.   We had a good time together renewing our friendship and the children made me happy throughout our missionary trip, which lasted from 15-25 th August 2003.  Bro Beniot and Thiery were there, always keeping us company with their wives.  We had a week teaching the ecclesia at Arusha and Moshi about the principles and good way of life.  We also spent some time teaching Bro Benoit and Thiery on how to conduct a baptism.  We also went to Ferengeti where we met Sis Monica from Musoma, she is a Kenyan but staying in Tanzania.  This took us one week.  It was sad when I bid my family farewell.

MAKINDU AREA

From the 6-7 th September 2003 Zakayo Mutunga, Lazaro Kingoo, Monica Mutunga, Jacob Mutunga, Everline Kingoo and Dickson Mauni visited this area.  Kai, Ikoyo, Kiboko and Makindu ecclesias were all visited.  The main missionary activities were to teach them the way they should conduct their CBM activities, breaking of bread services and general administration.  It was quite a successful trip with a promise to come back again.

KITUI AREA

Bre Zakayo Mutunga, Jacob Mutunga and Lazaro Kingoo accompanied me in this area.  We had elders meeting at Ikutlia and we visited the following ecclesias from 18-20 October 2003: Ikutlia, Nthoiani, Nguu Nyumu, Muathe, Mutonya, Busyani, Mwangeni and Symithumo.  We were encouraged by their love and their love for the word of God.  We encouraged them to be patient in the problems of the world and to look forward to the day when the Lord will set up his kingdom here on earth.  We left feeling we had served the Lord well.
