Is there any hope?

Is there any hope? Is there any Gospel news? About 2,000 years ago in the land of Israel, an angel announced the following news, ?Be not afraid, for, behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people, for to you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord? (Luke 2:10-11). Isaiah 61:1-3 predicted the birth of Jesus Christ and the good things he would do for mankind: ?The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of the Lord?s favour, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise?.

The meaning of ?gospel? is ?good news?. Is there good news with you today? Good news of salvation frees one who has sins. If you become a new creature in Jesus you will have true happiness and peace indeed. Isaiah 12:3 states, ?with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation?. Suppose you were given a one million dollar cheque as a reward. Would you cash it in a bank without signing it? Jesus Christ has given you a reward of salvation which is FREE. But you can?t receive the reward of salvation until you ?sign? ? by accepting him to enter your heart, so that he may be your saviour for ever. Being a Christian doesn?t mean you are exempt from encountering problems, but it strengthens you, so that you are never downhearted when problems come. You have somebody, the Lord Jesus, to lean on for assistance. There is always hope that a solution to your problems will be found.
