AFGHANISTAN Many Afghanis speak the same language as most Iranians do, and so our Farsi app and Farsi material has been widely accessed in Afghanistan. Again we marvel at how the Lord is using technology to enable us to more easily enter very difficult areas with the true Gospel. For the last month, Afghanistan has been the top country of the world for viewing our YouTube channel:
Whilst internet access is relatively low, there is a similar turning to Christianity there as is seen in Iran at this time. We have had some wonderful online meetings with the contacts there, resulting in four baptisms: OMID and SAMANE, and a married couple, HAMID and MONIREH. Hamid Monireh had been asylum seekers in Riga, Latvia for 6 months a few years ago- but our paths were not then meant to cross. Again we marvel at the Lord's perfect timing, and the way He takes all things into account in His calling of people.
IRAN We were pleased to baptize ALI, an Afghani living in Iran.
LATVIA Food distribution continues, as does the lockdown, and as does the very long Winter- more heavy snowfall this week. All very difficult and depressing for so many. Here's some food being taken to a sister who is bedridden in a room in a very delapidated building, but with a radiator for warmth at least:
KENYA It was some time ago that KEVIN contacted us from Kenya, saying that he didn't really know God, and wanting to be taught. He downloaded the app and worked through it, and has just been baptized at the Bondo ecclesia. Here you can see our new brother with his firstborn child:
USA Bro Tim Anderson in VA, USA has been praying for meetings with people to share our faith, and someone saw his sign advertising the app and came in to talk with him about it. Turned out the guy had lived in Riga, Latvia for 13 years. We cannot attach meaning to event, but this shows us how the higher hand of Providence works in calling people.
He writes: "Monday I prayed to meet someone to share our faith with as you suggest we do, again. Later in the day a gentleman makes inquiry at our business to speak with the owner about his sign message. Well today we met at Dunkin' Donuts and he thanked me for my uplifting messages of hope and it turns out he lived in Riga for like 13 years! What are the odds of that! He downloaded the app and l am anxious to hear back from him.

CAMEROON One of the app users in Cameroon,
West Africa, works for a Christian radio station there and is hoping to broadcast the "
Christian Basics" audio from the app in English and French [as Cameroon is a bi-lingual country]- they've sent us a video of their premises and are eager for permission to use our material. Which naturally we are happy to grant. So the message is now really getting out there in Francophone West Africa. It is the hand of providence that the French version of the "
Christian Basics" talks was read by a brother from Cameroon who is living in Riga, Latvia. So his accent is ideally suited to this radio station in Cameroon. Definitely the hand of God using human willingness to be used.
CHAD PUPO was baptized after lots of chats and correspondence arising from his study of
Bible Basics on the app. Brother Rob from Riga gave a lovely prayer, himself baptized from the Bible app; wonderful to see such spiritual growth so quickly in a lovely brother.
