Let Us All Consider
If the Almighty God loved the world (us) to the extent of giving His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sins, then we should stop, think and consider. Let us go back to the time when God created man and, behold, he was beautifully created in the image of God Himself (Genesis 1:26,27). But why? What was God’s purpose with man that God made him so special?
After God created man, very good as he was, He did not ask for any payment nor any material possession or for anything. All He asks of men is to serve Him, to recognize Him as their Creator and Maker of all things. But, alas, man chose to disobey God and all since have sinned. Through sin, the human race became separated from their Maker. But since God is a loving Father, in order to save mankind, for the plan to work, we should make a choice to serve God or go on sin’s way. To serve God is to follow His laws and so recognise Him as the Creator, the Father and Almighty Lord, and also to honour Jesus who is His only begotten Son, who is our mediator, our link to God.
And for this small service, He promised peace and everlasting life with happiness. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:19; John 5:24; 20:31; 1 John 5:13). Brothers and sisters, what an offer! Isn’t rejecting God biting the hand that feeds you? Why not serve God and achieve all these beautiful promises. It is nothing much: all we have to do is to overcome all worldly pleasures and turn away from evil and the natural thinking of the flesh. We can have all this through positive thinking
To begin with, let us take a close look at what positive thinking is. How can we cultivate it and build positive thinking into our day, to live in both good and negative situations? And positive thinking actually works. So often, people don’t really understand the nature of positive thinking. A positive thinker does not refuse to recognize the negative, but he refuses to dwell on it. It is habitual thinking which looks for the best result from the worst conditions. It is possible to look for something to build on, to expect the best for yourself even if the situation looks bad. And the remarkable fact is that if you seek good you are likely to get it. A positive thinker chooses to keep his mind fixed to the bright future which is always just around the corner and, in this way, it helps to make the dark moments more cheerful, productive and more creative.
There is a well-known fact that what affects the mind also affects the body. There is a close relationship between the two, what affects the one affects the other. “Be strong and be of good cheer, just be courageous and be not afraid, for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
We have to give God the task. Pray for God’s help on whatever task you are facing. He created you; He promised you help whenever you call for it, so why lean on your own power when there is God who can do things better? There is nothing impossible with God. So if you face any circumstance which you think extremely difficult, tell God. I argue that He is the only One who can turn negativism into positivism. He is the only One with the right power to knock the t off ‘can’t’, leaving you with CAN.
There now, positive thinking does work. Precondition your mind to success and lean on God and there will be no more failures. In return for the deserved loyalty to our Creator, there is plenty of every good thing. So just stop and consider your ways. God alone is that very solution you are very much looking for. Do you give God the chance? If not so far, it is not too late to start now and you will notice the change.
