KAZAN
Here I am facing some huge domestic problems which may leave me without anywhere to live; I may even have to go into a shelter. At my age I fear this greatly. Please pray for me.

I marvel at how the same truth of the Gospel has been there from the time of Abraham to our own days in this 21st century. I see, too, how always the true way of God has been persecuted and opposed, and I suspect that such a time of trouble yet awaits us before Christ returns. May we be strengthened to endure and enter the Kingdom.

I am pleased to inform you that brother Valeryan Matveev has returned to our meetings, he was baptized a long time ago by brother Duncan. My health has been poor, but I am trying by all means to write an article for our Magazine.

Brother Igor Sipiagov and I have just bought our tickets to go to the Voronezh Bible School, we are so looking forward to it, an oasis for us.

I am pleased to say that Nastya and I graduated together quite fine. So this will be my last communication for a while, as we are leaving in the morning to live and work at our posting in the far north of Murmansk Oblast. Please pray for us and know we shall love you all in Christ even in that far place!

Although the Government is more lenient towards religion than in previous times, they are really only allowing the Russian Orthodox church to have any publicity on radio, television and newspapers. Anyone who teaches otherwise is labelled as a ‘sect’, and I find it hard to interest people in our message for this reason. I continue to break bread here and take great comfort from my meetings with the Lord.

Well we arrived home OK from the Bible School, very elated. The world is as a furnace and we were able to get out of it for a while to be together at the School, thank you so much that it could happen.

I have had a huge shock in that my sin-in-law suddenly collapsed and died. He did everything around the house and we simply don’t know what to do. There’s nobody else in the village to help us with things and I cannot do hardly anything myself now at my age. So truly I am casting myself upon the Lord, for Him to sustain me.

VOLGODONSK
I returned home from the Bible School eventually, but it was such a long and hot journey, I spent half the night waiting for the second bus. But the School was a blessing for me, the first one I have ever attended. I do treasure the photograph of us all together.

VORONEZH
There is some anti-climax for me after the Bible School finally happened; so many things were stressful because of the problem with the hotel, but I am so glad to have met so many brothers and sisters.
