news from guyana
The quarter under review saw the void that had
been created by the departure of Bro Dan and Sis Becky Parsons and Bro
David Andrews.
Brother Gideon remained during the transition to
see to the implementation of the programme drawn up for Kilcoy and New
Amsterdam Ecclesias and returned in July to the U.S.A.
Bro Ted and Sis Dolores and Bro James Delits
visited about the same time in the month of June and ministered to all
our membership within their short stay.
In the month of July Bro Joe Badly and Sis “V”
visited. Bro Joe Badly stayed the entire six weeks ministering in both
Demarara and Berbice. Bro Joe saw to the implementation of our first
T.V. preaching broadcast in Demerara and Berbice. It is expected that
more VCR cassettes will be made available to the brethren in the two
counties to continue the T.V. broadcast.
The quarter was mainly preoccupied with detailed
preparations by the CNYC to enable all our youths to travel to Jamaica
on the 3rd of August for the Triennial Camp and one week Bible
campaign. Our contingent has since returned, by the grace of God.
Sister Susan Profitt of Georgetown ecclesia fell
asleep on the 3rd of August after protracted illness. She had
celebrated her 94th birthday early in the year. She was buried on the
9th of August.
On Sunday the 10th of Sept, Sis Emma Smith,
originally from New Amsterdam, (who was re-admitted into fellowship in
2005 at the same time with her husband, Bro James was sadly struck down
with sickness and subsequently fell asleep after a long battle with the
sickness.
