news from st lucia

But truly it is God who gives the increase! We had our public lecture on the events surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus at the town hall on Thursday night this week, and we had about 30 people attend. Many were contacts we knew, some were not. They came because of letters, posters, and newspaper ads. so the effort was not in vain. Our spirits were lifted through the roof and we thank you heartily for your prayers on our behalf. Although we had one heckler from the "Ancient Egyptian Order" trying to create trouble, no one was deceived, and a good sized crowd stayed behind for discussion following the talk. Among our friends we had, Linda, Keith (who drove us to and from), Eddie and Merlisha, Gabriel and Theresa, Percival, Laurie, and most of our brothers and sisters. We also had one contact, Madeline, whom we had never met but apparently used to come out frequently, she joined us for memorial and lecture on Sunday as well. We feel full with blessings, and very enthusiastic as we now turn our energies toward the Campaign.

Sunday we were graced with the presence of Brother Allan and Sister June Curry. Brother Allan gave a wonderful exhortation on waiting...something we are somewhat familiar with. He explained that throughout bible history God has asked his servants to wait, from Abraham to King David, to Jesus...so who are we to complain about St. Lucian time uh! We were further uplifted by Brother George, with his lecture following lunch, he spoke of the events in Daniel's image leading to the return of our Lord. We pray the day is soon approaching.

Thank you all again for your prayers, please know that you are in ours. We continue to be blessed by the lessons God is teaching us through our work here, and the people we meet. We tend to make the mistake of thinking we are teaching them but when you get right down to it, the receiving is very much on both ends. We hope that God will bring further increase to the seeds encouraged here, and we pray that as Allan and I head to St. Vincent on Friday to begin planting some more, they also will receive the water they need that will bring them to everlasting sustenance in His word.

With love in that blessed hope we share,

Allan, Jess, Joe, and Kate.

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it..."(Psa 127:1)..."for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God" (Heb 11:10)

St. Lucia is very tropical;  sunshine all year round;  beautiful beaches, white sand, so come and pay us a visit.  In our small ecclesia we have just four members – two brothers and two sisters helping to spread the gospel.  I am a taxi driver (working in the Troust Business) and meet people from all over the world  The first question Tourists askes me is ‘Where is your best place?’  My answer, ‘The Piton, about one-and-a-half hours drive each way’ (see the picture).  He said, ‘How did this peak find itself there?’  This is a volcanic formation a few thousand feet from the sea, up in the sky, the handiwork of God.  My answer, ‘There is someone much bigger than this pick, and that is GOD.  He can fit into your heart and into mine.  Let us just trust Him.’
Bro. Michael Joseph

Thank you for the book.  I am very glad to hear from you.  Although I am working, when I go home I am tired – it seems for ever.  I miss you all and think of you often and wish I could see you more often.
Sis. Julie Gonzaque
