I am in Christ!
The door closed and the bus picked up speed and we were on our way. It seemed nobody else knew that I was going on my way to meet with my great dream. It was the 5 th Bible School of my life. Earlier I had only attended the young people?s studies, this was the first Bible School I attended as an ?adult? It was so wonderful for me, the Bible School in Kishinev, hearing another language and meeting with new people. I quickly found friends there, and by the time we arrived at the location of the Bible School, I already knew many new people.
It was wonderful weather and beautiful natural surroundings where the School was held, and this all added to my good mood and my feeling of being strengthened. In the course of several years hearing the word of God and meeting many sincere Brothers and Sisters, there had arisen in me a great desire to be with God and have the hope of being in His Kingdom. I dreamt of being able to be a member of God?s family. So I made the decision to be baptised, I wanted to be with the Lord and to offer to serve Him with my whole soul.
So on the first day of arrival at the School I revealed my secret desire for baptism. The lectures were interesting and sincere and there was a great feeling of unity and friendliness amongst the family of Christ gathered there. I already knew the brother who organized the School as sincere and a true Christian, and this encouraged me in seeking for baptism.
And so I came to the great moment that every true believer must go through, the moment of baptism. I was asked in the water: ?Lena, do you believe in the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Lord Jesus Christ??. I wanted to reply straight away loudly with the words: ?Yes, I believe, I very much believe in them,? but the words somehow caught in my throat as I said them. Anyway, the faithful and reliable hands of my brother put me under the water? and then there came the greetings and congratulations from many of my new Brothers and Sisters. I really didn?t want to come out of the warm water of the Dnestr river, I wanted to continue that wonderful experience as long as possible. I was so happy! I am in Christ! I want to just thank all who organized the Bible School and helped me, especially Sis. Luba Meshkova.
