HEBREW APP
For over 30 years we have tried witnessing to Israel but most of those baptized there have been migrant workers who leave Israel once their contracts finish. We have been led by Scripture to believe that the repentance of at least a remnant in Israel will be the beginnings of spiritual fruit on the fig tree of Israel, that means we are in the generation that will see the Lord's return. So the repentance of a remnant of Jews in Israel is a pre-condition for the Lord's return. "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those who turn from disobedience in Jacob" (Is. 59:20). But how shall they hear without a preacher? Witness in Israel isn't easy. It seems to us that the most effective way of getting our message before the Hebrew speaking Israeli public is through getting them to download a Hebrew version of the Bible Companion app. This means folks can quietly consider the message in the privacy of their own phone and home. We don't think that a Jewish convert to Jesus as Messiah would need to quit the synagogue nor necessarily renounce their Jewishness and Jewish culture. It is acceptance of Jesus as Messiah which is critical.

And so we have been working away producing all the audio and video files needed for a Hebrew version of the Bible Companion app. We already have 260 Hebrew language videos, a commentary on every chapter of the New Testament. These apps in English and other languages have had around 3 million downloads, are used by around 10,000 people per day, with users spending an average of 9 minutes on the app per usage. These are huge numbers, and the app has resulted in not only many baptisms but it's also the backbone of our pastoral support of those who are baptized. We believe in this project and there is a track record of the Lord using it mightily over the last 6 years. But now we need to pay the app developers to make the actual app, and to advertise it in Israel. The rough figure for all this is £10,000. A lot of money. So in faith we prayerfully go to you to ask if you would donate to enable this to happen. Donation details are on this email and you can send us a note specifying that your donation is for this work. But please, do pray for this great work.

Romans 11 speaks of how the natural branch which has been cut off [Israel] will be more effectively grafted back into the olive tree than the wild Gentile branches. Israel "much more" than the Gentiles can be grafted back in, whereas Gentile converts do this "against nature" (Rom. 11:24). In the context of Israel's final repentance, God speaks of how every one of the Jewish people has been potentially created for His glory, because they carry His Name (Is. 43:7). Although Israel have been "quenched as a wick" for their sins (Is. 43:17), we are to realize that the wick is still smouldering, and are to follow the Lord's example of never totally quenching it but instead seek to fan the wick of Israel back into life (Is. 42:3).

Our project may or may not be significant in God's latter day plans, but we know God's love for Israel is eternal. His desperate hope and longing is to restore His relationship with His people Israel. And this requires them to learn the true Gospel and embrace the Lord Jesus as Messiah and make Him the true Hope of Israel. Producing the Bible Companion app in Hebrew and pushing it before the attention of the Jewish people is surely something God would smile upon. Please support it as far as you can.

Our meetings at the pub have now grown so large that there is simply not enough space there some Sundays, quite apart from the cost of buying so much food there. We've reported several times how every bar stool and chair is taken, and how people are sitting on the floor and standing up. But now there are Sundays when we're nearly 60 people and there just isn't physically room in that bar. So we will soon be moving out to another bar, in central Croydon, where we hold our midweek meetings, and sister Evia and others will put on a 3 course meal every Sunday instead of the pub roast. It's so sad to have to move on, the Orchard Pub will always have a fond place in our hearts, but we have to follow the leading of the Spirit. We move on very much needing your prayers and any financial donations you can so we can pay the rent and provide all the food... and ever so grateful to the Lord who has so hugely blessed our efforts in Croydon. Moving church locations is always a difficult time and so we appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Our online followers of our meetings continue to stay very engaged and many going further in their desire to study the Bible. This week we made a trip to visit and baptize four of them. First were LISA and her husband JOSEPH, Lisa is just so thrilled to have found true relationship with the Lord Jesus after having quit the Catholic church and then see through the errors of other churches. She's so outgoing and shares her faith with so many; we were able to give her one of the few remaining cases of NEV NT Bibles, knowing she is already such a great witness to so many unchurched people and those like her who got disillusioned with churchianity but still very much want God in their lives. Lisa gave a lovely and enthusiastic testimony which you can listen

And thanks to Evia for keeping their dogs at bay whilst we did it!

JOSEPH and MORGAN are another young British couple who have turned to God, the Bible and the Lord Jesus, whilst deeply sceptical of churches and organized religion. This is part of an unmistakeable trend in British society, and we are grateful that we have been led to engage with it. But what hard lives they both have had. Joe was only 14 when his mum died of cancer, and he had no father around. So he was put into a hostel at 16 years old. Morgan likewise had no family to support her, and was also placed in a hostel at 16. But that was how they connected with each other, and decided that although they didn't trust churches, they would trust each other and trust God and become Christians although outside of churches. They got a flat together and have a 3 year old with cerebral palsy. There are Bible verses all around the flat. They then figured they were living in sin by not being married, so they've stopped having sex until they get married. You just couldn't ask for anyone more sincere in their faith, and it was such an honour to baptize them in their bath tub, high up in one of the tower blocks overlooking the Edgbaston cricket ground.
