AUSTRALIA Brother Mark reports more good news from WA with the baptism of JARED:
"God has an amazing way of leading people into a personal belief and relationship with Jesus; for a person to individuate to Jesus and to have Jesus as their force/power in this life; to come closer and conform more to Jesus, rather than closer and conforming to a denomination. As an 18 year old, Jared was baptised into a denomination that saw themselves as the true church; the only church that had truth. But before too long, Jared found the claims to be false. Cracks in the foundation belief that his church was the only true church, started to appear. This rocked Jared's faith somewhat, and for many years he stopped attending church and started doubting both God and Jesus and their purpose for him. We recalled similar experiences in the lives of ancient Biblical characters. We discussed Joseph, Moses and Paul the apostle and how God worked through disappointment in fractured relationships, so as to bring them into a deeper meaningful personal and purposeful relationship with God (and in Paul's case, with Jesus). What seemed like a tragedy to Jared and was a tragedy, it has made Jared focus more keenly on Jesus; to give more weight to Jesus than anything or anyone else".

UKRAINE
Last week we told you of brother Jaroslav, whose diabetes has led to gangrene in his foot and lower leg . Effectively, only emergency medicine is operating and everything else has to be paid for. We do appreciate your donations so we can continue supporting our brethren and sisters in need at this chronic time. We got the funds to our brother immediately and he was hospitalized and given intensive treatment, with the result that his foot has been saved, for now. We do give thanks:

There have been mass drone attacks throughout Ukraine this week which have affected many of our brothers and sisters. They are often shot down by small arms fire, and seeing soldiers running around your home with weapons and firing them is quite traumatic. Especially for the children and grandchildren. And then there are the issues from falling debris.

Our work at Lunchtime Church was hugely blessed this week, despite not having Cis to cook for us. We're so grateful to other sisters especially Dana and Evia for taking time out [in Evia's case, from revising during her GCSE exam week] to come and cook. And what blessing there was.
After meeting on Monday we were delighted to baptize SIMONE. You can't be more at rock bottom than she is 39 years old, 4 months pregnant, toothless, two grandchildren, living on the streets of Croydon. Well done to Chris and Tamica for taking her under their wing and patiently leading her to the Lord Jesus, her only hope- to the point that she herself really and insistently wanted to be baptized. She wanted to be baptized fully clothed because her body is covered with sores; afterwards the sisters put on plasters, and are integrating her with social services and other help groups. It is truly an honour to be able to take the Lord Jesus, and the wonderful things of His Kingdom, to those like Simone who are really at rock bottom and the outcasts of society. Afterwards we celebrated by eating chocolates and halva which we were given as a small present by our new Jewish sister Svita in Ukraine after her baptism last week. All part of the great unity of the Spirit.

It's always great to look back and see those now being baptized receiving food from us at the soup kitchen. Here's Simone [to whom we also give extra food and things to take away]:

And here's WILLIAM eating his meal:

And after the meeting on Tuesday, William came back and was baptized, having first attended our meetings last year. The midweek work of Lunchtime Church [Bible study + soup kitchen] is quite demanding. We really could do with more helpers. Let us know if you can.

Our work is focused upon the preaching of the Gospel, but we do also make a big impact in providing relevant help for the needy. Not only of food, sleeping bags, tents, hygiene items... but also what comfort we can provide. One lady who had just lost her husband dropped in to see us... because she knows we're there and do care... and sister Dana hopefully was a listening ear and support for her:

And as ever we do appreciate your financial help, without which all this work just couldn't happen.
PRAYER POINTS
- For those recently baptized
- For more help with our midweek meetings in South London
- For those under bombardment in Russia and Ukraine at this time
- For those in Ukraine struggling with health issues and without medical treatment
With love from your brothers and sisters of Carelinks
