May 2025 New Zealand, North America, Ukraine, UK

NEW ZEALAND
A special prayer request for our beloved brother Barry Hodson in his cancer battle. Barry and his example has been a huge inspiration to Carelinks as he trode our path many years before we did.

NORTH AMERICA
So great to witness JEAN baptize herself, having been raised a Christadelphian many years ago. What a lovely commitment of herself to the Lord, having made a very clear confession of her doctrinal beliefs. The seed planted does indeed often bear fruit, even decades later.

UKRAINE
You may have seen on the media that the intensity of bombing of civilian areas in Ukraine is now higher than ever before in the war. We are making a brief emergency trip to Ukraine to briefly help a family who have been bombed out in a front line area. We appreciate your prayers and financial support for the work in Ukraine at this time. Let's not let it become a forgotten war... the suffering is very real.

UK
Our midweek meetings in central Croydon continue. Some of our regular attenders really struggle with homelessness, which has many dimensions. Whilst homelessness is at times a choice, there are various reasons for it. We provide food and other assistance to those homeless who attend our lunchtime meetings. We park our car in a car park where some of our attenders sleep, on bits of cardboard, provided sleeping bags and even in a tent. But the Council have a policy of removing these things in order to clean up the car park... this week we witnessed one such clean up operation. You can see the before and after...

and then as it was being cleared up:

These issues are beyond human resolution and one has to see them from various angles. All we can do is to provide the good news of the Lord and His Kingdom, and back this up with food and material help as far as we can.

Our dear sister Cis is having a cataract operation and will be unavailable for a while from early June. And she's our main cook at lunchtime church. Do let us know if you can help.

We had a lovely baptism of ZACK, yet another formerly secular, non religious guy who came to God, Jesus and the Bible. No doubt God is moving in the UK very powerfully. Video of the service

And then it was so good to get down to the valleys of South Wales to baptize a lovely young Welsh couple, DANIEL and SHANNON, they have four young kids and live in a typical street of terraced houses just as you'd imagine South Wales. But in that very ordinary British environment, again we find young people searching for God and Jesus, buying Bibles and reading them, starting from scratch after a generation where Christianity was ignored. It's so great to see the lights coming on for people as they start to seriously engage with the Bible. But like so many, Shannon had been put off "church" after experiencing the endless Pentecostal demands for money on one end, and the unbiblical woke agenda in others. We're here for all these dear ones, and there are now so many of them throughout the UK.
