The Wicked

The wicked shall go into the grave, all the Gentiles that forget God. The wicked are those “who know not God and obey not the gospel of the Lord” (Psalms 9:17; 11:6; 2 Thessalonians 1:89). There are three groups:

First: Sinners that have never heard of the one true God, the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel, as well as others who are incapable of faith and obedience.

Second: Those who have come to an understanding of the gospel, but have rejected it (Isaiah 26:14; Luke 13:38; 2 Timothy 4:1).

Third: Those who have obeyed the gospel, but do not hold fast to the precepts and return to the flesh.

The first group dies and perishes like the beasts. The second group also dies but comes forth from the grave to encounter the burning indignation of Christ, the judge of the living and the dead at his appearing and kingdom. The third group also comes forth to be judged and to undergo condemnation, a sorer punishment (Hebrews 2:2,8; 10:27-29; Romans 8:13; Galatians 6:7-8).
