the hired bus of approx ten to twelve
brethren and sisters and friends at 3.pm ...
and that’s when the fun began! Then a bus
with eighteen arrived ... and then two cars
and a few scooters at 4pm! This is Africa!
Instead of the ten to twelve we had
expected, thirty arrived, with many young-
sters with little ones in tow - the potential
for a Sunday school and youth group here is
HUGE!!
While we waited for the rest of the food to
arrive (pizzas and fried chicken ordered to
cope with extra numbers!), Michael led a
devotional with hymn singing, poems, videos
and prayers. Fortunately our French next
door neighbours were away so the kids could
scream and shout for joy, jumping in the
pool. Michael started the barbeque straight
after his talk and laying out all the chips
and snacks etc. - all gone in 30 mins! The
mountain of drinks went soon after! Then
came the chicken and pizzas and in less than
40 mins ... all gone also! The brothers and
sisters took control of the fire and food and
even washed the floor before they left.
Lallita and another sister did the rice,
potatoes and salad and washed up every-
thing at the end. Two Brothers from
another fellowship joined us and promised
to be there on Sunday for the Breaking of
Bread and public talk on Global Warming.
The whole event was most uplifting and
we are very grateful for the help Bro
Albert and his wife Ben who helped us in
collecting the food etc. It seems to us the
future with the youth in the ecclesia is
huge if only they could arrange some
regular activities to involve them. 7.30 pm
and back on the bus, leaving two very
exhausted but happy old toppies to pick up
the pieces.
Sunday, Michael gave the exhortation on
fellowship and then a Public talk on Global
Warming; trusting that God will intervene
