miraculously destroying the Assyrian army and
then other countries brought him gifts and
presents, so that once again Hezekiah had
exceeding much riches, then we are told
“Hezekiah rendered not again according to
the benefit done unto him for his heart was
lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon
him and upon Judah and Jerusalem. Notwith-
standing Hezekiah humbled himself for the
pride of his heart” (2Chron 32:25-26). We
must never forget everything we have has
come from God. Job said “The Lord gives and
the Lord takes away – blessed be the name of
the Lord” (Job 1:21-22). God can open the
windows of heaven and pour out His blessings
if He wills.
When trouble and adversity comes, it is also
allowed by God. “For whom the Lord loveth
he chastises” and we must as it were flatten
ourselves on our backs and look up to God.
The key is to always be looking up, to pray
without ceasing and not wait until God flat-
tens us on our backs before we turn to Him. If
we truly place our lives in His hands and allow
Him first place in our hearts then we shall
receive a hundredfold in due course.

“Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord?”
| Sis Beth Briggs (Canada)
T
he angel of the Lord had promised a child
to Abraham and Sarah in their old age.
According to nature’s laws, it was impossible
for these elderly people to have a son. But
there is never anything too hard for the Lord –
in due time Isaac was born.
This promise is also for our blessing and
comfort today. No matter how overpowering
our mountains of trouble and suffering may
be, God can remove them in a moment. But if
He sees they would work to our advantage OR
His purpose, He will not lift these burdens,
reminding us as He did Paul: “My grace is
sufficient for thee: for my strength is made
perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
“No,” is sometimes the best answer to our
prayers, and as we mature in the Truth we will
be able to see that indeed “all things work
together for good to those who love God, who
are the called according to his purpose”
(Romans 8:28).
God made the mighty universe,
The holy cherubim,
Each marvel in the earth and sky,
What is too hard for Him?
And yet He loves each child of His,
And if we watch and pray
He will perform great things for us
Each hour of every day.
