The Choice of a Christian
| Bro Nasong’o Haron
W
e live in a very competitive world, a
world that has many opportunities and
challenges, full of fear and sorrow; a
world where most people are
worried about themselves and
their families; a world where
we can choose to follow God
or do the opposite. So the
world is all about choice
between two options: to
do what is right or to do
what is wrong. If we cling
to Almighty God, then we
choose what is right and
avoid what is wrong. For there
is abundant evidence that a
vibrant relationship with God
impacts upon our total well-being.
Therefore we should choose what is
right.
The greatest need in the world is for these
men who have chosen correctly. Men who will
not be bought or sold, men who in their inner-
most souls are true and honest, men who do
not fear to call sin by its proper name, men
whose conscience is true to their duty, men
who will stand firm for the right. As Christians
we should carry Christ in our hearts. There is
nothing so good, so powerful and
honourable as to practice the will
of God. This is the right choice.
There is much for us to do
personally. All our habits,
tastes and inclinations must
be educated in harmony
with the needs of spiritual
life and health. By these
means we can secure joy
and gladness instead of grief,
a song of praise instead of
sorrow. We can be like trees
that the Lord has planted. We
can do what is right and God will be
praised for what He has done in us.
It was the Lord Jesus Christ who always made
the right choice. Though there is war, he will
bring peace. Where there are those who are
oppressed, Jesus will turn grief into joy and
gladness. Therefore we pray for his return,
that we may all meet and reign in his kingdom
and that all this may be soon.

Some members keep a group so strong,
While others join just to belong.
Some dig right in; serve with pride,
Some go along just for the ride.
Some volunteer to do their share,
While some lie back and just don’t care.
Some do their best, some help, some
make: Some do nothing, only take.
Some greet new members with a smile,
And make their coming so worthwhile,
While some go on their merry way,
No greeting or kind word to say.
Some help the group to grow and grow,
When asked to help they don’t say “No”.
Some drag, some pull,
some don’t some do:
