NEWS FROM CAMEROON
DOUALA
I can only describe as wonderful the mail I have just received from you . I cannot believe that I asked for just some pamphlets and yet you have sent me all these wonderful preaching materials. I humbly believe that all these will go a long way to help our ecclesia in its growth in the truth, and the wealth of knowledge contained in all these books will help us improve our mastery of the truth, for it's the lack of such things that hinders the growth and popularity of our group and doctrine here in Cameroon. Most of us cannot defend or preach this gospel as people who really know what
they are talking about, and that is why we keep marking time on the same spot. If our Christian literature is widely circulated in town I'm very sure that many would see the truth expressed in these preaching materials. Some copies of Bible Basics will be put in our library to help some brothers and sisters come up to date with certain doctrines. You know my dear brother preaching in Africa is not like in Europe. We in Africa have great superstitions about God and demons and so on that it is not easy to get the message really through to most people. Furthermore, the mess preached by these apostate churches really makes it difficult for us as they have flooded the whole place with this stuff and many of them are also on the cable channels. Whenever I look at the TV and listen to one of this so-called Christian churches preaching I could shed tears. They spend their whole time speaking about prosperity and casting out demons from people but never teach the Word. Since most of us Africans in general are poor, we flood to these crusade grounds in the hope that we may become relieved of our poverty. Very few indeed would ever take the pains to study the Word, instead they foolishly think that is the work of the pastors and priests, and they should and be directed by their pastors.

BAMENDA
CAT has done a lot in Bamenda. We received a large parcel of books including `Where There Is No Doctor' and `Where Women Have No Doctor' and other books. We put these into good use as we move to villages to talk about the gospel and encourage basic health care and sanitation. One of these villages is Buweh, in the photo, there some members of Bamenda Ecclesia donated some basic medicinesto them; Bro Philip Mafain (with book in hand) and Sis Nanji (1st on right) and Bro Akoso Peter (1st from left), presented them the drugs on the table. The village head and wives received us and we visited them weekly for a year. The UK Brethren have since visited Buweh and today there are six Brethren and Sisters meeting in their own hall.
