view as web pdf Let God Be the Judge

Over the centuries terrible acts have been committed by people who appear to have escaped punishment. The world has experienced slavery on a large scale: genocide, wanton destruction and cruelty of an horrific nature. In some cases the perpetrators were brought to justice but in many instances those responsible for these dreadful acts against humanity would appear to have avoided the consequences of their misdeeds. As a result, there are many people who question this and wonder why God allows this to happen.

It must never be forgotten that the Lord is the ultimate judge in everything affecting mankind. It should also be remembered that, as Paul has written, “Each of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12). When, in your estimation, evil would seem to have won the day or that a wrongdoer has gone unpunished, do not lose faith in the goodness and power of Almighty God. The day will come when those responsible will be judged according to the manner in which they have lived their lives.
