Understanding the Bible
There are hundreds of groups on earth which
call themselves Christian, and yet all are
teaching different things. Most of them claim
to use the same source book ... the Bible.
Simple reason says that obviously they cannot
all be right. They cannot all have the keys to
understanding.
Solomon said, “It is the glory of God to
conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to
search out a matter” (Prov. 25:2). We
encourage everyone to start searching for
Bible truth, which is gratifying and the reward
is great.
Grace
| Bro Benjamin Makuta
(Chinoyi, Zimbabwe)
T
he most common understanding of the
word grace is God’s unmerited favour.
Even when we were sinners, deserving
judgment, God? looked upon us in love and
forgave us.
Grace can also mean God’s enabling power.
Lets come to? 2 Thess 2 vs 16-17. “Now our
Lord Jesus Christ himself and God even our
father which hath loved us, and hath given
us everlasting consolation and good hope
through GRACE, comfort your hearts, and
stablish you in every good word? and work.”
Not only does his grace make us accepted
into the family of God, but it also provides
the power we need to live the Christian
life.
Two scriptures indicate the two aspects of
God’s grace in every believer. Lets come to
Ephesians 2 v 8-9 where it reads “For by
grace are ye? saved through faith, and that
not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not
of works, lest any man should boast”. Yes,
brothers and sisters, the church in Antioch
prayed that the grace of God be upon Paul
and Barnabas and later on Paul and Silas as
they set out on their missionary journeys.
Acts 14:26? “And thence sailed to Antioch
from whence they had been recommended
to the GRACE of God for the work which
they fulfilled”.
So in our relationship with God as we walk
with him each day we meet situations that
would try to overwhelm us. Our response to
God is to trust His Word. We express our
trust through obedience. This proves we
believe what God says despite what the
circumstantances might indicate, because
God’s response to our faith is His grace.
Lets conclude with Hebrews 4:16 where it
reads “Let us therefore come boldly unto
the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy and find grace to help in time of
need” AMEN.
The Lord Shall Suddenly Come
| Bro Melusi Ndlovu (Kwe Kwe, Zimbabwe)
“T
he Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly
come to his temple, even the
messenger of the covenant, whom you delight
in, “‘Behold he shall come’ saith the Lord of
hosts. But who may abide the day of his
coming? And who shall stand when He
appeareth? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and
like fuller’s soap and He shall sit as a refiner
and purifier of silver, and He shall purify the
sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and
silver.”
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,
and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? If
any man defile the temple of God, him shall
God destroy, for the temple of God is holy,
which temple ye are.”
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any
man hear my voice and open the door, I will
come into him”. He will come not for one day
merely, for he says, “I will dwell in them, and
walk in them, and they shall be my people”.
“He will subdue our iniquities, and Thou wilt
cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
His presence will cleanse and sanctify us, so
that it may be a holy temple unto the Lord
and an habitation of God through the Spirit”
(Malachi 3:1-3; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Revela-
tion 3:20; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Micah 7:19;
Ephesians 2:21-22).
