SOWETO | Sis Leonie Verster
We are a people in mourning, for our beloved
Sister Maria Makhado, the wife of our
recording brother, Daniel Makhado, who died
on the morning of Sunday 29 March. Sis Maria
was involved tragically in a taxi accident
whilst going to a funeral
which left her very badly hurt.
She was in ICU on life support
before she died. We sat in
stunned silence grieving together
at the Breaking of Bread, while
Bro Lucky Sekhasembe comforted
us by reading “Brothers we do not
want you to be ignorant about
those who fall asleep, or grieve like
the rest of men, who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again
and so we believe that God will bring with
Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.”
Till we meet again dear Sister.
Sister Maria was a lovely, gentle and
committed sister. We pray that God streng-
thens Bro Daniel and his family in this time of
their tragic loss. The funeral will be held,
God Willing, in Taung in the North West
province on Saturday 4 April. About 45
brothers and sisters from the four ecclesias in
Gauteng will, God Willing, make the five hour
trek to Taung to support Bro Daniel and pay
last respects to this much loved sister.
A frightening statistic was given recently. An
average of 47 people die on the roads in
South Africa DAILY.

I am looking forward to the
next visit of Brethren and
Sisters as this encourages us all
to meet together and be
spiritually upbuilt. I always like
to hear from you and the books
you send me.
