Message of Encouragement
| Sis Annet Namagga (Kampala, Uganda)
I
would like to share this massage of encour-
agement from the book of Isaiah with
brothers and sisters in and through Gospel
News.
The book of Isaiah 25: 6 - 8 (Good News Bible)
says:
“Here on Mount Zion the Lord Almighty will
prepare a banquet for all the nations of the
world – a banquet of the richest food and the
finest wine. Here he will suddenly remove the
cloud of sorrow that has been hanging over all
the nations. The Sovereign Lord will destroy
death for ever! He will wipe away the tears
from everyone’s eyes and take away the
disgrace his people have suffered throughout
the world. The Lord himself has spoken.”
The above words of Isaiah are encouraging
words of hope for all of us. In the world today
there is a lot of sorrow, suffering, death, war
etc., which affects all people. Even if things
are, as they are in the world, there is hope of
good things to come as stated in the book of
Isaiah above. To receive them, we have to
obey God’s words in the Bible though it is not
easy. Many times we find ourselves falling
short of God’s words, but this does not mean
that we should not try to do what the word of
God says in the Bible. We should continuously
pray to God to help us be obedient and have
faith in Him; since the Bible says no one can
please God without faith, help each other on
the narrow and slippery road to God’s
Kingdom, and also other people in need etc.
This help can be in different ways such as:
help brothers and sisters understand the word
of God/Gospel, those who are sick to get
treatment, provide food, clothes, or essential
things in life etc. Some of us find ourselves
not giving the necessary help to the brethren
or any other people in need, giving a lame
excuse of not having lots of money, not being
able to help, not earning enough money for us
and also help others etc. Our God does not
require us to do things we are not able to do.
We can use whatever blessings God gives us to
help others. The small things/help we do or
give our brothers and sisters or other people
are what our God requires us to do. There is
no need to wait until we get lots of money to
help others, because that will not happen or
will take quite a long time given the fact that
many of us don’t earn that kind of money. The
little we get is enough to share with others,
because everything we get comes from God
and He is able to replace whatever we give
others, or even give us more than we need.
May our Heavenly Father help us do what is
stated above. God bless you all.
Lightening the load
No one is useless in this world
who lightens the burden of it
to anyone else.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens,
and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
