MAGUNJE | Bro Stanford Kuuzha
My wealth is in Christ, what fruit are you
bearing? Believe who you are. Let us reflect
Christ always in our lives.
Ephesians 1:18 “Having the eyes of your
hearts enlightened, that you may know what
is the hope to which he has called you, what
are the riches of his glorious inheritance in
the saints.”
Ephesians 2:7-8 – “So that in the coming ages
he might show the immeasurable riches of his
grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through
faith. And this is not your own doing, this is
the gift of God.”
Ephesians 3:8 – “To me though I am the very
least of all the saints, this grace was given to
preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable
riches of Christ.”
News from Zimbabwe
MUSHUMBI | Bro Nice Yotamu
I am very happy to let you know that here
at Mushumbi Pools we successfully partici-
pated at the District Agricultural Show
where we displayed and preached the
Gospel News. It was for two days and we
had our own stand where that banner
which you gave us was busy flying high at
our stand. We were giving out leaflets, and
magazines. We were also answering ques-
tions from people visiting our stand and we
managed to answer them very nicely. Some
even asked for dvd discs but we told them
that we did not have them. Some have
asked for UK40 lesson course and some
Shona lesson courses. I am busy compiling
their names. Hopefully next year we will
plan ahead and correct our mistakes.
Resurrection | Simple Bible Truths
The Report (1948) of the Commission appointed by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York (UK)
T
owards the Conversion of England states,
“The central theme of the New Testament is
eternal life, NOT for everybody and anybody, but
for believers in Christ, arisen from the dead, The
idea of the inherent indestructability of the
human soul,(or consciousness) owes its origin to
Greek, not Bible sources”
Whilst the Church of England, and other
Churches, pay lip service to the Bible fact of
resurrection, they have also endorsed the first
lie recorded in the Bible, on the occasion when
the talking serpent told Eve, “ye shall not surely
die”(Gen 3:4), and thus millions now oppose the
sure and certain word of God!, assuming that
they have an immortal soul which needs no
resurrection. The Hebrews of old were told of
resurrection by their Prophet Daniel, who wrote
“many of them who sleep in the dust of the
earth shall awake..” (Dan 12:2). The Lord Jesus
12 times speaks of resurrection clearly in John 5
and 6 and the Apostle Paul in 1 Thess.4:16
declares that when Jesus the Christ descends
from heaven “the dead in Christ shall rise first.”
(Gk is ‘proton’, firstly in time, not persons) We
must note that Paul shows selectivity in the
resurrection, speaking of the resurrection only
of those who died ‘in Christ’, or having formed
a relationship with Christ through baptism. Some
folk write to us saying that the soul leaves the
body at death and is reunited with the body at
the resurrection. There is no Scriptural proof of
such an idea, but there is proof that the ‘spirit’
(ruach..breath) “shall return unto God who gave
it”.(Ecc 12:7) It is the spirit-breath that goes to
God in heaven not the ‘soul’. The Apostle Paul
writing to the Ephesians..4:10, about the resur-
rection and ascension of Jesus, says plainly that
‘he that descended is the same also that
ascended up…; Now if Jesus went down into the
grave without His ’soul’ then we must accept
that He ascended to the Father without His soul,
whatever is meant by that - an idea of course,
which is utter nonsense. The Biblical record
shows that Jesus raised from the dead three
people, the son of the widow of Nain, (Luke
7:15), the daughter of the ruler of the Synagogue
(Luke 8:55) and Lazarus (John ch. 11). Jesus
delayed going to heal Lazarus, ‘that the Son of
God might be glorified thereby’ and when he
reached Bethany Lazarus had been dead 4 days.
Thus, Jesus can resurrect people long after
death, including those who are in their graves
when He returns.
