God Has Given Us the Capacity to Love Him

Our feelings come and go but God’s love for us never wanes. God’s care for us is much more watchful and tender than the care of any human father could possibly be (Psalm 139:17). How precious it is, Lord, to realise that you are looking after and thinking about us constantly. I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. I see skies of blue and clouds of white, bright-blessed days and dark stary nights, and I think to myself ‘What a wonderful world’.

We have been in God’s thoughts and love from all eternity, His attention never leaves us.

All experience, both the good and the not so good, can make a pattern of blessing and strength. Each moment contains a hundred messages from God. To each cry of,“Oh Lord”, God answers, “I am here.” What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Earth has no sorrow that God cannot heal. “The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deut 33:27). God is every moment, totally aware in intense concentration and love.

No one passes through any area of life, happy or tragic, without the attention of God (Luke 12:30-33). Your heavenly Father knows your needs. He will always give all you need from day to day. Nothing great was ever done without much enduring. “I am still confident of this, that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:13,14).
