Let us Not Worry When Neglected
Reference to Gospel News Nov/Dec 2003, regarding our Bro. Batak Swalik of Kampala, Uganda, who cannot communicate with his mother because of changing religions. Also his mother stopped assisting our Brother in any way. Maybe the Lord God, our Heavenly Father, is testing you to see your faith, if really you have believed in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us see what the Lord Jesus says in Matthew 10:32-36 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. Do not suppose that I have come to bring
peace, but a sword. For I am come to turn a man against his father, daughter against her mother. A man's enemies will be the members of his own household." Also Matt.6:25-31 where Jesus says, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them; are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin, yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of those. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear?"
Psalm 37:1-6 says "Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong, for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble." Psalm 119:76 "May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promises to your servant." Psalm 86:1-7 "Hear, O Lord, and answer me for I am poor and needy; guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God, save your servant who trusts in you. Have mercy on me O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call you, for you will answer me."
