Two courses of action were open to the paralyzed Aeneas when Peter spoke those words to him. Either he could have scoffed at this blustering ex-fisherman and so remain a bedridden cripple for the rest of his life; or he could respond in faith, and putting his trust in the power of Jesus’ Spirit, rise up a healed man – able to live a full and normal life. The record of events in the Book of Acts show us that Aeneus chose the latter course and his faith was rewarded as he received complete healing in the Name of Jesus Christ, after having suffered affliction for a period of eight years.

There is a lesson in this for all of us, as we encounter problems, difficulties and setbacks in life. When these occur, we too are faced with two choices. Either we can resign ourselves to the situation and wallow in despair and self-pity as we allow our lives to be robbed of zest; or we can hand our problem and ourselves over to Christ, believing that He is in control of the situation. Then, in faith, we wait upon Him for His guidance and leading in our particular circumstances.

The choice is yours! Why not show the same degree of faith as did Aeneas? For if you do, you may be sure that Jesus will not let you down, and His answer to your prayers will be in keeping with His perfect will for you and your well-being.
