Digest of the Bible

The Bible is a collection of some 66 books written by men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is an awesome book and overwhelms most of its readers. At times a single verse contains intense messages which can only be understood after prayerful, lengthy Bible studies. This is one reason why the Bible is neglected by most people because they tend to read it as a novel or any other book. On the other hand, once we begin to understand what God’s intentions are with the peoples on earth, the apparently complicated writings begin to make sense to us and are able to be understood. Thus I was once lost and now am found.

From the time of Adam, God has always been accepted as a superior being. Later on we read that the human race decided to follow their own desires, contrary to God’s ways. They always knew in mind that there was somebody above them because of the order of things on earth and in the whole universe. The choice is very much ours, God has a plan for all of us and as we go through the scriptures, we will discover it.

We are all Abraham’s spiritual descendants. The Bible tells us that God promised Abraham and his descendants everything they needed for a happier life on earth provided that they continued to keep His statutes. Romans 4:13 &16-18. There are two good reasons why God keeps both the bad and good people alive on the earth. Firstly there is no one who is really perfect in the sense that all have sinned and fallen from the grace of God. Secondly, God loves each of us, in the sense that by God loving us, we would realise our wrong deeds and turn to Him. The Bible tells us that whosoever believes in God, shall be given the right to be called the child of the living God. There is a slogan that I love saying and I keep saying it to those I meet, “No man is an island, no man stands alone, each one is a part and parcel of the other, we need encouragement from one another as we journey towards the Kingdom of God, which we all long for. Keep watching the news as menacing times are ahead of us! Please don’t despair but seek your sanctuary now with Jesus. Seek first the Kingdom of God.
