An Invitation to a Feast

Jesus had arranged a feast. Listen to Luke 14:16-19. Jesus said, There was once a man who was giving a great feast to which he invited many people (16). When it was time for the feast, he sent his servant to tell his guests, ‘Come, everything is ready’ (17). But they all began, one after the other, to make excuses, the first one told the servant, ‘I have bought a field and must go and look at it . Please accept my apologies’ (18). Another one said, ‘I have bought five pairs of oxen and I am on my way to try them out. Please accept my apologies’ (19). Still another said ‘I have just got married, so I can’t come’ So, brethren and sisters, does God accept these excuses? If we are in that frame of mind, we mus repent, because God loves us. The Lord is calling us.

Look again at Luke 14:23-24: “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full. I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my feast”. So let us pray to have a place in the Kingdom of God.
