China

Carelinks workers have baptized around 60 people in China over the last 10 years. We're pleased to report that all are accounted for after the recent terrible earthquake. Every day we have large numbers of Chinese visiting our Chinese websites and requesting Chinese Bible Basics. We're pleased to share with you that our brother Donald travelled a total of 6284 km. (3927 miles) by train to visit contacts in various parts of northern China. Here the true Gospel is spreading as never before- truly the Truth of the Lord Jesus is going to all corners of this planet. The journey took our brother a week and we commend him for his efforts.

Here's our brother's report on the baptism of WU:

"Hi,I JUST CAME BACK.

OUR NEW BROTHER REQUEST TO GET RE-BAPTISM AS HE WAS ONLY SPRINKLED FROM THE CHURCH WHEN HE WAS A BABY AND NOW HE UNDERSTAND ALL TRUTH AND REQUESTED TO GET PROPER BAPTISM. HE MET ME AT THE TRAIN STATION.

PROCEEDINGS OF BAPTISM :

1.   I REMIND HIM THAT A young child is incapable of repenting or understanding the Gospel; in any case, sprinkling is not baptism.

2.   Baptism Address: I read from the Bible Basics sample baptism address. There can be no doubt that today is the most important day in WU's life; in a few moments he will go under the water and rise fully "in Christ", a seed of Abraham, having those glorious promises which make up the Gospel made to him, etc.

I TOOK AN ENGLISH EDITION BIBLE AND BIBLE BASICS TO GIVE HIM AS HE KNOWS SOME ENGLISH. WE DISCUSS MANY IDEAS ABOUT TRUTH DOCTRINE. I FEEL VERY HAPPY TO CONVERT OUR NEW BROTHER INTO A TRUE CHRISTIAN ALTHOUGH THE JOURNEY IS SO LONG AND HARD. WE DISCUSS MORE ABOUT SPREADING THE MESSAGE TO ALL OF CHINA.

Next, we tried to tell interesting Bible story to a high school boy with a short english-chinese Bible . And he is concentrate to it. It was our first Sunday School work!

Brother Donald has also developed an online breaking of bread system whereby the Chinese brothers and sisters can have a 'virtual ecclesia' even though they are quite scattered.

We're also delighted to have regular contact with an English teacher from Europe currently working in China, who is himself learning the Gospel with a view to baptism and sharing the message with his local Chinese students. This could well develop into yet another ecclesia in China.

We ask for your prayers for the spread of the Gospel in this huge population.

KOSOVO
Our new brothers and sisters in Kosovo have put together good plans for the chicken / hen building they would like to build. We do encourage support of this project as it has been well thought out and costed:

         

CORRECTION: In our recent report about Kosovo, we reported that we distributed clothes donated by Br John & Sis Valerie Freer. Sis Valerie has pointed out that they were just the "delivery company" and the clothes were actually donated by brother Michael Gates.
