China, Latvia, publicity, November 2007
We're delighted to report the baptisms of sister LI and brother NI FU. They are in one of the remotest parts of China. Brother Ni Fu is a hunter, specializing in weasels and large marsh eels. He skins the animals and sells the fur as well as selling the meat. They live without regular electricity and consume a huge number of batteries in flashlights etc. Brother Donald chartered a vehicle to take him to this remote place. Typically in China we've been baptizing younger people as a result of our internet outreach. Our new brother and sister are contacts of one of them, and learnt the true Gospel from the Chinese edition of Bible Basics. Brother Marcus in London UK is sending out several copies per week to various such folks throughout China. Our new brother and sister have been interested in Christianity for many years but lacked anyone to teach them.
Brother Donald sent us some photos, including one of brother Ni Fu with some weasels he caught to make a meal to celebrate his baptism:

We give thanks for this further spread of the Gospel to the world's remotest regions.
Meanwhile in Latvia we've been blessed by the unexpected visit of Brother Eric McKee from Virgina USA who decided to drop everything and come over and help with rebuilding the home we're working on. He's been here nearly a week and has been a tireless worker. We hope to publish a report from him soon. Meanwhile we await the arrival of Brothers Andy Dorney and Norman Durk from the UK. Do consider coming over too!

We were fascinated to watch sis Liga and the children preparing their bumper cabbage crop for later consumption this Winter. They shred the cabbages and then pour water and oil onto them, and leave them compressed under bricks in a barrel. Not too hygienic but it's good to see folks doing all they can to provide for themselves:

We're also providing heating support for a number of brothers and sisters, and there's deep gratitude expressed by all for your support.
The work of Carelinks is expanding all over, and we invite the brotherhood's support and involvement. We've produced a flier which you may like to share with others and print out and place on noticeboards.

With love and thanks from your brothers and sisters of CCM
