PHILIPPINES

We're delighted to say that the good work done by Bros Mark Gilbert & Steve Jones on their recent visit to the southern Philippines continues to bear fruit, with the folk there actively meeting together and resulting in the recent baptism of IAN in Mindanao. There will be more reports on the work there at the upcoming CCM Conference in Sydney, see www.carelinks.net/events.htm

USA

Some time back we were approached by BARRY, an earnest seeker for truth from a Jewish background. Having read Bible Basics and a huge amount of our material online on sites like www.biblebasicsonline.com, www.eliyah.info etc., he realized the need for a proper baptism now that he understand the true nature of God, the Lord Jesus, satan, the soul etc. We put him in touch with a nearby ecclesia in Florida, and we're delighted to report his baptism last Sunday.

We're grateful to all those who worked with us towards this happy result. Carelinks get 40,000 visits / week on our websites, and many requests for Bible Basics each day, especially from the USA. They're ably dealt with by the Vancouver WA ecclesia. Any interested in fellowshipping together in this dynamic work can contact Br. Mike Warren, mike@vancouverecclesia.net . We'd also like to express a word of thanks to Rick, an eager student of the Aletheia College material, for putting all Duncan's books into .PDB format, downloadable for Palm handhelds. Rick loves reading through our material on his Palm, and we're grateful for his huge effort here. Those interested can download the files from http://www.aletheiacollege.net/palm2.htm

SIS. CHENOOR

A sister from the UK has made a special visit to our sister as she is still stranded in Turkey, although she is safe enough in accomodation we've provided. The British sister reports: "We have just been sorting out a lawyer to take Chenoor's appeal to the Minstry and God willing, he will write and do all the necessary for her. So, we have been to a notary to authorise him and so on. I don't think there is much hope of the minister saying yes, but it looks as if we need the negative answers to proceed any further with UNHCR. Poor Chenoor is very upset and was crying a lot earler but is better now we have done something positive, even if the positive is negative, if you see what I mean ... we had a happy /sad farewelling for br Mojtaba (sad for Chenoor, happy for him) as he called in on his way to take his flight to Canada. Thanks for all the prayers. Love to you all." We do give thanks for Bro. Mojtaba's being allowed to leave Turkey for Canada. We spent a huge amount of effort with UNHCR to get them to favorably consider his case.
Here's a file photo of a very frightened looking Br Mojtaba sitting with us 2 years ago in a cafe outside the UNHCR building in Ankara whilst waiting our turn to visit the "powers that be" there.

We do give thanks for this deliverance and continue to pray for Chenoor and her husband Br Hazhir. Two brethren from North America hope to visiting soon to further put pressure on the relevant authorities and our prayers are for their mission. Please also pray for the other refugee brethren from Iran we're trying to assist.

LATVIA

The Riga ecclesia continues to thrive, with an excellent attendance this last Sunday. We were delighted to welcome Brother Henrik from Finland, who also spent some time working with Brother Dave Bushell from the Walton UK ecclesia doing the wiring at the home we're reconstructing. We look forward to the arrival of brother Graham Mitchell soon, and some others plan to come over in mid-August to help with painting. If you'd like to get involved, please, do contact us at info@carelinks.net . The harvest truly is huge, and the labourers few.
