Sis. Chenoor, Afghanistan, Sis. Monica, Latvia, June 2007
We apologize for lack of recent Carelink messages, as many of our team have been on the road, and will continue to be over the Summer, God willing.
Sis Esther has been in Guyana and has been able to get a first hand report of the awful life endured by our refugee brethren in the African camps. She has written it up at refugeelife. We encourage you to read it and step up your prayers and support for these brethren.
Persecution continues against the true children of God even from those calling
themselves Christian. Sis. Robin Jones remains in close contact with Sis. Monica
in Africa, who emailed her recently as follows:
..."Last week there was letter from the catholic bishop
as they call it. The letter was about the workers who are not catholics. Sis
two months ago they raised workers salary on notice only if worker produces
his or her baptismal certificate or matrimonial certificate from the one of
the catholics.I did not and my salary is not raised up to now. Now last week
they said that they want to take actions for those who did not have the certificates
and if possible then we must be stopped from work. I don't bother and I am fed
up with the small salary they have been giving to me and more so frustrations
are still going on. I told them plainly that I am not Catholic and I cant accept
to do what they are doing and cant follow their beliefs. In any case they Will
give me the letter then I Will let you know. The Bible is telling us that his
followers must meet problems and he is ready to help. I am not afraid but very
strong and having much courage! I know that my Lord is the lord of Lords."
Again, our prayers are with our sister!
LATVIA
We're progressing well with reconstructing the home in northern Latvia, praying daily it will be used well in the huge work of pastoral care and witness which is ongoing here. It's a huge project and really running out of resources and labour. Recently we've had a real effort to get the basic construction work finished and we're grateful to those who've come and helped.

Photo: Brother Graham Mitchell has been a huge source of wisdom and hard work on about every aspect of building-
here's Graham and Cindy buying materials in Riga:
Local brethren and sisters have been involved too.
Photo: Brother Raimonds spent two days tiling and concreting:

More visits are planned throughout August- can YOU come and help [there's plenty of simple painting to do!], or sponsor some work on this wonderful project? We're in need of some curtains, sheets, pillow cases, duvets, blankets, baking dishes, trays, kitchen utensils etc. Of course we're in need of about everything but these are the things which can be carried in baggage. In late July and August, God willing, the following bre & sis are booked to come over from the UK- if you can get items to them, as long as they're not too heavy, they should be able to bring some of them over:
Joyce Cousins [Southampton]
Peter Eichorn {Nantwich]
Graham Mitchell, Dave Bushell, Pauline Brett [Walton]
And finally we conclude with a grateful and encouraging letter from a brother recently baptized from our website outreach:
Hi Brother,
I just wanted to thank you for all your help and interest and prayers. Like I was telling Mike, my natural way would have been to procrastinate and put things off and if it wasn't for you, I would not have hastened doing the most important thing that I needed to do. I truly feel like I have been born again. I am following the Bible Companion reading daily reading schedule and I am daily praying and feel a real communication with God. It is so good to be in the Truth and your book, Bible Basics and your emails to me have been a real blessing to me, and when you sent me that link about rebaptism, it was just what I needed at the time, so once again Duncan, thanks so much.
In Christ
Brother Barry
With love from your brothers and sisters of CCM
