Brother Abedi, Operation Carelink, Conference etc., May 2007
We're pleased to report that Sister Esther Worrell, who has a special interest for refugees on the Carelinks group, has been able to visit our brother Abedi and his family in Guyana, South America. Abedi suffered great things in refugee camps in Africa, and informed us of his plight. Through your prayers, donations, and the great work and initiatives / connections of so many, Sister Sonia Hemingray & Brother Clive Solomon especially, our brother and his family made the long journey from West Africa to South America. Esther reports that although the family are happy, living as a new immigrant in a developing country like Guyana has many problems for them all. Comparing the two photographs below, however, is a cause for thanks to our Almighty Father. There this family were, suffering unmentionable things in deprived conditions, and now here they are joyfully standing outside the Kilcoy Ecclesial Hall in Guyana, as recently photographed by Esther:

At the same time, we continue providing help to those in Eastern Europe who are in difficulty as a result of their faith. The family we're assisting in Latvia have now planted crops for the Summer, now the frosts have gone, to make use of the short growing season. Using blankets as curtains is a bit much when you have so many children to bed each night,
so we were happy to provide blankets and more bedding yesterday to a rather harried Sis. Lia:

We also passed on some hand knitted clothing, kindly knitted by a sister in the UK:

OPERATION CARELINK
The amount of work to be done caring for so many scattered brethren and sisters is huge. And on top of that, there is a steady flow of very real interest from all kinds of folk who would genuinely like to accept the Lord in baptism, but need of course to be taught the Gospel. In the parts of the world where we're working, people really are interested. We struggle with the resources to cope with all this wonderful potential and responsibility which the Lord gives us. What we really need are more workers to come forth into the vineyard and labour. We've therefore decided to launch what we're calling Operation Carelink- a program for young and no so young brothers and sisters to spend a structured, extended period assisting in the work of caring, sharing and preaching the true Gospel. All the details are online at: http://www.carelinks.net/opcarelink.htm
If this isn't for you, well please do pray that the Lord will send more labourers into this great harvest; and please share this program with as many as possible. A period of time spent in the mission field has been a significant formative experience in the spiritual lives of very many- all of us on CCM can testify to this in our personal spiritual lives.
CARELINKS UK CONFERENCE
There was a very good attendance at the Carelinks UK Conference just held in Kendal Ecclesial Hall. Attendance was up nearly 50% from last time, and there was a stimulating series of talks and above all discussions about how we can better tackle our mission of taking the Gospel to those who have not heard world-wide, and caring for those who respond. You can see photos and download MP3 recordings of most of the talks at http://www.carelinks.net/audiotalks/conference.htm .
We'd like to remind you of forthcoming Carelinks gatherings (God willing) in Hurstville Ecclesial Hall, Hurstville, Sydney, AUSTRALIA on June 30th, and in Auckland, NEW ZEALAND on July 14th- more details at http://www.carelinks.net/events.htm . Do come along!
WEBSITES & GERMAN "BIBLE BASICS"
We're pleased to say that Bible Basics is now available in German and is online at http://www.carelinks.net/languages/german/indexde.htm . A big thanks to the Berlin ecclesia for all their colossal labour!
We've also grouped together our material on alcoholism onto a new website www.alco.org.uk
CHINA
Just as we send this out, we received some lovely pictures from Brother John of baptisms of WEI-DONG and his wife , in China. They were contacts from our internet work in Chinese.
